Alessandra Ambrosio
Alessandra Ambrosio was born in the southern Brazil Town of Erexim on April 11, 1982. When she was a little girl she decided to become a model. When she was just fourteen years old she entered into modelling classes, in the same year she entered Elite’s Look of the Year Contest. Though she doesn’t win, this event launches her future career as a model. Her first modelling job was for Brazilian Elle.
A few years later she has firmly established as one of the premiere supermodels of the world. Her striking beauty has been featured in some advertising campaigns by Georgio Armani, Gucci, Rocco Barroco, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Victoria’s Secrets just to name a few. Besides that she was appeared in the cover of fifty international and world known magazines like Elle, Ocean Drive, Vogue, Glamour, Cosmopolitan and Capricho. She also has walked the catwalks for designers like Fendi, Kenzo, Nicole Miller, Oscar de la Renta, Laura Biagiotti and Christian Lacroix.
Alessandra’s best modelling job was the Pirelli Calendar for Guess? as one of Victoria’s Secret model.
Besides modelling, Alessandra has other passions such as surf, sunglasses and the moon. In her few free times she likes to watch the TV show 24 Hours, she likes to read, her favourite books are The Da Vinci Code, The Lord of the Rings and the Man from Avalon. She also loves cinema, her favourite movies are Kama Sutra, Stealing Beauty and Natural Born Killers. But want she really love is spending time with her friends and family because is very devoted to them and she spends much of her time travelling around the world. Despite the travels she remains loyal to her hometown which she calls “little city”.
Alessandra’s perfect body is maintained by her active and healthy lifestyle which includes a lot of sports such as surf, bodyboard, snowboard and volleyball.
In 2004, Alessandra launched her own line of swimwear called Alessandra Ambrosio by Sais. Currently she lives in New York and she has a contract “Angel” for Victoria’s Secret, her “Angel” status brought her a lot of public attention.
In 2007, she was chosen as one of People magazine’s annual 100 Most Beautiful People in the World.
Currently she is one of the world’s top-earning models, she is the face for Next and Armani AX, and she is also the National Ambassador for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society maybe because her father was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in the late 90’s.
